He sat there wrestling with a question that would not let him go. Was it enough?

He did not have a CEO title at some high end firm. He was not a celebrity. He was not the head of a church committee or a blogger with a big platform. By the world's scoreboard, he had not made a mark worth measuring.

And so he sat there, quietly wondering if any of what he had done actually counted.

I think a lot of us have had that moment. Maybe you are having it right now.

Job titles, recognition, and overfilled schedules do not define our importance. Whether you are a stay at home mom, a retiree, someone working a regular nine to five, a student, wherever you are in life, we all wrestle with wondering if we are fulfilling our purpose. Sometimes it feels like we have been tucked away in the back of whatever the world has decided is significant.

Society labels achievement by the impact everyone can see. But worldly fame and attention have a way of overshadowing the real impact happening all around us by God's standards. And somewhere in the mundane happenings of life, we lose sight of our purpose simply because nobody is applauding.

But God sees you. In the small moments. In the quiet shadows of the world where the work actually gets done. In the way you treat people. In your thoughts. In your faith.

Think about the school employee who drew a smile out of a kid who may not have a happy home waiting after the bell rings. The mom and wife preparing a welcoming home, a cooked dinner offering a little respite from a hard world at the end of a long day. The nurse in that one moment where she showed God's love in a hospital or a nursing home, where suffering and loneliness get sidetracked by the next bed to fill. That one simple act of kindness in the middle of your ordinary workday that could change the outcome of somebody's entire night.

None of that makes a headline. All of it matters.

Proverbs 19:21 says "Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails."

His purpose prevails. Not the one you drew up. Not the one that would look impressive if you described it at a reunion. His. And His purpose has never once required a platform to be carried out.

We may not have a big stage to shine from, but that does not soften God's light in us or diminish our significance here. You can accomplish God's purpose in this world without a single soul ever knowing about it and still achieve the greatest impact, the kind that never gets seen by anyone.

God is the only spectator you need.

So if you have been quietly asking whether it was enough, whether any of it counted, whether a life without a title or an audience adds up to anything, hear this today.

The world may not know your purpose. But the world could not do without it.
