Faith & Finances: Trusting God While Getting Things in Order
“God, I just need a little more…please?”
The prayer slipped out before I could stop it. Not because I doubted His provision, but because, well, honestly? My budget wasn’t budgeting. The bills kept coming, the unexpected expenses popped up (because of course they did), and the bank account balance wasn’t balancing the way I had hoped.
I took a deep breath, standing in the grocery store aisle, debating if I really needed that extra item in my cart.
“Give us this day our daily bread.”
The words whispered in my head over and over again.
God had always provided. Always. But in my rush to fix things, to control the numbers, I realized I was missing the lesson in the struggle—being responsible and trust go hand in hand.
Getting my finances in order wasn’t just about cutting costs or following a budget—it was about surrendering my fears of “not enough” to the One who is always more than enough.
So, I did the hard thing. I put back what I didn’t need. Those cookies looked really good though. Ha.
I sat down later that night, pen in hand, and actually made a plan. I prayed before making financial decisions. And instead of letting money rule my peace, I started inviting God into the process.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about managing dollars—it’s about managing my heart.
And if you’re in a season of financial stress, feeling like you’re just barely keeping your head above water, take heart.
God sees. God provides. And with wisdom, prayer, and patience, you’ll get through this.
One step at a time. One decision at a time.
You are not alone.
Much Love & Blessings,
Ramzi
God doesn’t just care about our spiritual needs—He cares about our practical ones, too. Invite Him into your financial decisions, seek wisdom, and trust that He is working even in this.

Applying This Week’s Message
Family Corner
Teaching Stewardship as a Family:
Money stress can impact an entire household, whether spoken or unspoken. If finances are tight, be open with your family in an age-appropriate way. Instead of framing financial challenges with fear, turn them into faith-building moments:
With kids: Give them a jar for savings, spending, and giving. Show them how to tithe or donate to someone in need, reinforcing that generosity isn’t about how much we have, but how willing we are to trust God with it.
As a couple: Pray over your finances together. Set shared goals and check in regularly to avoid tension and miscommunication.
For single parents: Know that you are not alone. God will provide for you and your children. Seek wisdom, create a simple budget, and trust Him step by step.
God is our ultimate provider. When we live as stewards, we show our families that trust in Him is the foundation of financial peace.
Relationship Insight
Handling Money Differences with Grace:
Money is one of the top stressors in relationships. Maybe one person is a spender, and the other is a saver. Maybe financial pressures have led to tension, frustration, or even resentment.
Shift the mindset: Instead of seeing each other as opponents in financial discussions, view yourselves as teammates working toward the same goal.
Communicate regularly: Have money check-ins, not just when problems arise.
Pray together: Financial stress is real, but so is God’s peace. Lifting your financial situation to Him together invites His wisdom into your decisions.
God calls us to be wise with what we’ve been given. Instead of fighting about money, let’s seek Him and work as a team to honor Him with our finances.
Mental Health Minute
Overcoming Financial Anxiety:
Financial struggles can bring more than just stress—they can create deep anxiety, fear, and even shame. If you’re losing sleep, avoiding bills, or feeling overwhelmed, know that God doesn’t want you to carry this weight alone.
Pause and breathe: Take a moment to sit with God and release the burden. Write down what’s weighing on you, then surrender it in prayer.
Tackle one thing at a time: Instead of being paralyzed by the big picture, focus on one small, manageable step today.
Replace worry with trust: Meditate on Philippians 4:6-7—“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
Money does not define your worth. God’s peace is available to you even in seasons of struggle. Let Him be your provider, not just financially, but emotionally and spiritually as well.
Financial Wisdom
Practical Steps to Honor God with Your Finances:
God cares about how we manage what He’s given us. If you’re trying to get your finances in order, here are a few steps to get started:
1️⃣ Pray First – Before making financial decisions, ask for wisdom. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and not lean on our own understanding.
2️⃣ Create a Budget – Know where your money is going. Budgeting isn’t about restriction—it’s about intention.
3️⃣ Tithe & Give – Even when finances are tight, make generosity a priority. Giving isn’t about the amount; it’s about trusting God with what we have.
4️⃣ Avoid Unnecessary Debt – If possible, work toward paying off debt and avoid impulse spending. Proverbs 22:7 warns that “the borrower is slave to the lender.”
5️⃣ Plan for the Future – Proverbs 21:20 says, “The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down.” Save what you can, even if it’s small.
Financial freedom isn’t about having more—it’s about learning to honor God with what we already have.
