A DOOR IN THE CHAOS
It started to take its toll on me. The chaos of the streets of New York City on a July day... during a heat wave.
The sweltering sun beating down as each step wore on my feet—I should've known better than to walk this route on a day like that. But as I turned the corner, the grandeur of that church met me unexpectedly.
It pulled me in.
I opened the door just to get a glimpse—and as only God can do, He slowly let the noise fade. Step by step, I found myself moving deeper into the center of the building. The cool air wrapped around me like a gentle reminder that I didn't have to keep pushing. The quiet beckoned me to stop striving.
I sat down in the back, letting the stillness settle my heart.
I didn't plan for a holy moment—I just needed a break from the heat. But God has a way of meeting us in the in-between places. When life feels loud, heavy, and relentless, He doesn't always remove us from it... but He faithfully provides a place within it to catch our breath.
That church wasn't just a refuge from the sun—it was a picture of what God offers each of us: peace. Not when life is perfect, but right in the middle of our exhaustion. A place where we don't have to hold it all together. A place to remember that being still is holy too.
Sometimes the most sacred moments are the ones we never expected. The ones where we realize: we're not lost—we were being led.
God isn't asking us to be strong enough for the street… just willing to walk through the door He opens. And there, in the quiet, we find that we're still held.
Much Love & Blessings,
Ramzi
